Memorial Day weekend means a lot of things for people-barbeques, parades, decorations. For many, it’s a time to remember those lost, especially in war. My family is no exception.

This story is researched by family I have yet to meet, and long to do so. It’s heartbreaking, raw, and heroic. It is not for debate and such will be deleted. It’s long, but is a piece of my family that I am proud of.

Thank you James Oberg for your research and to the members of the Strong.
