This week’s photo challenge, Awakening, evokes images of tiny delicate flowers poking up through garden beds and in brownish-green lawns. Many of my fellow northeastern residents are longing for this! This winter has been particularly harsh and long-lasting. It just seems like Mother Nature has not gotten the memo that it is April, not February. Many areas still have unsightly patches of crusty and dirty snow piles. Still, despite the relentless snow flurries and frigid nights, spring is coming. Even to Upstate N.Y. There’s evidence of it, I promise. Here just a few examples I caught around my house on this gray and 40 degree Wednesday.
