Exploring as a youngster is so important to development and who we become as an adult.
As a child, I remember getting lost in books, happy to be transported to whatever world or storyline I was reading. I also used to enjoy exploring the thick woods with my sister behind the house we grew up in. The woods or the books served as a medium for exploration into something unfamiliar, like the story of King Arthur and his knights or a vast jungle ready to be mapped out.
I just happened to capture these pictures one recent evening of my son “reading” the comic book of Calvin and Hobbes we have. Nothing cold pull him away from the winter adventures he was “reading” about, not even America Ninja Warrior (his favorite show), or us calling him, or me even taking his picture.
